Officers are found leading the Aliens through out the game, they are also an essential part of the Tech Tree in order to learn more about the Alien Invasion.
In addition, all Alien Officers and above all wear helmets or a gas mask variant, to better distinct themselves from their subordinates.
Officers are able to use grenades.
